a snow of butterflies : texticity

by Tomorrow's Man

September 26, 2008
Once a brightness on the Earth,
Now just a mumbling hater,
Once a man of taverns,
Now a scurrying servant.

Wasn't a man who repents,
But instead would kiss the serpent,
Remember when I dared?
These days I just dread.

Now I get a thought in gear,
But it devolves into rage,
A debilitating range
from blind ire to anger.

I used to get weird,
But now I'm just wired,
I use to get fried,
But now I'd just get fired.

Within my head I'd reside
And dream of driving desire,
Time was I always tried,
but now I'm just tired.
